The college had a humble beginning in the year 2007 in Jnanasagara Campus, the Bengaluru – Mysuru Highway. To comply with the directions and stipulation of National Council of Teacher Education (NCTE), the College has given importance to the development of infrastructure and other academic facilities. Since 2007, the college has witnessed a noticeable change, and tremendous progress. The infrastructure facilities along with an efficient computerized library, well-equipped computer, language and science laboratories, educational technology room etc., have been contributing to the development of various competencies in the student - teachers of the college.

The college is striving to obtain  permanent affiliation and is temporarily  affiliated to the University of Mysore, Mysore. The missions and goals of the institution are reflected in all the programs and activities of the institution. It is difficult to draw a line of demarcation as to say which of the activities reflect which of the missions and goals of the institution. The members of both teaching and non-teaching faculty and the S.B.E.T. management are proud to say that they have successfully come out in the task of providing jobs through teacher education to a fairly large number of graduates who belong to Mandya District in particular and others in general.
